TEXL completes first GE90-115B repair (July 21 2010)

Taikoo Engine Services (Xiamen) has successfully completed the of repair services on its first General Electric GE90-115B production engine – the largest commercial aero engine currently in operation, powering the Boeing 777.

The completion of this work marks the first to be undertaken by TEXL for Cathay Pacific Airways.

TEXL is a joint venture between HAECO, Cathay Pacific Airways, Taikoo (Xiamen) Aircraft Engineering and Xiamen Aviation Industry Co. It specialises in the repair, overhaul and testing of GE90 series engines and is the sole holder of a GE branded service agreement (GBSA) in Asia.

Xiang Weiming, General Manager of GE Aviation in the Greater China Region, said: “This is a fantastic achievement by TEXL in such a short period of time, as the sole GE90 GBSA holder in Asia. GE is looking forward to supporting TEXL in servicing the needs of our GE90 customers in Asia and beyond.”
