Gulfstream Jet Receives Full Repaint at RUAG

RUAG Aviation has completed the full repaint and delivery of a Gulfstream business jet, at its specialist aircraft painting facilities in Munich. The repaint was performed on an aircraft that had already seen several years of service. RUAG Aviation also serves as an outsourcing partner to other providers; as was the case for the full repaint of this aircraft, in addition to its being a one-stop shop for full aircraft solutions.

Debris Recovered Off Tanzanian Coast Confirmed as part of MH370

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) has confirmed that the large item of aircraft debris, found on the island of Pemba, off the coast of Tanzania in June belonged to MH370. “It was confirmed that Part No. 5 was the inboard section of a Boeing 777 right, outboard flap, originating from the Malaysian Airlines aircraft registered 9M-MRO,” the ATSB has announced after investigations were completed in Canberra.

Engine Alliance Celebrates 20 Years

Engine Alliance, which is a joint-venture between GE Aviation and Pratt & Whitney is celebrating 20 years of operations in 2016. The GP7200 was originally launched to develop a jet engine for Boeing’s 747-500X/600X aircraft. The GP7200 now powers more than 115 A380s (60 percent of the world’s A380 fleet in service).

GoAir extends Component Support Contract

Indian domestic low-cost carrier (LCC) GoAir has extended its component support contract with Lufthansa Technik AG, for its present and future fleet of Airbus A320 classic and A320neo aircraft respectively. As part of the contract which has seen Go Air extending its Total Component Support TCS agreement with Lufthansa Technik Services India (LTSI), it will have access to most of the spare parts required for the regular maintenance of 19 A320 aircraft as well as the new A320neo fleet until 2026.

China Airlines’ first A350 XWB Makes Maiden Flight

This first A350-900 for China Airlines has completed its maiden flight and will now enter the final phase of production, which includes additional ground and flight testing. The airline has a total of 14 A350-900s on order; the new A350-900s will join China Airlines' Airbus existing fleet which includes A330s and A340s on its regional and long haul services.
