Sukhoi SportJet Showcased in Rio de Janeiro

Russian airframer Sukhoi Civil Aircraft is showcasing its Sukhoi SportJet in Rio de Janeiro. The company is demonstrating its new SportJet concept, with an actual size mock-up at the Marimbás Club during Olympics period between Aug. 5-21. Visitors will be provided with demonstrations and tours of the mock-up.

Bombardier Concludes First German Challenger 650 Delivery

Bombardier Business Aircraft has delivered its first Challenger 650 aircraft into Germany. The new aircraft will join the fleet of more than 430 Bombardier business jets in Europe.  “This first German customer delivery of a Bombardier Challenger 650 jet confirms the aircraft’s leadership in Western Europe," said Christophe Degoumois, Vice President, Sales, Europe, Russia and CIS, Bombardier Business Aircraft.

Solar Impulse Receives Logistics Support from Chapman Freeborn and Volga-Dnepr

Chapman Freeborn and Volga-Dnepr Airlines have provided the logistics support for Solar Impulse 2, which became the first solar-powered aircraft to circumnavigate the globe. A Volga-Dnepr Airlines IL-76TD-90VD and an ATR-72 were used to provide logistic support to the Solar Impulse 2 team.

Mauritania Airlines Orders Next-Generation Boeing 737-800

Boeing has announced an order for a single Next-Generation 737-800 jetliner from Mauritania Airlines. The deal is valued at U.S.$96 million at current list prices. The airline has chosen Boeing’s Sky Interior, which deliver a greater sense of spaciousness with decorative sculpted sidewalls, larger window reveals, LED mood lighting and larger pivot overhead stowage bins.

Panasonic Avionics Announces Landmark Connectivity Services Agreement

Panasonic Avionics (Panasonic) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Yahsat, to explore new ways to offer a broadband connectivity solution serving several mobility markets in the Middle East within the next three to five years. A company statement said, that while the, “Final terms are still being negotiated, the MOU allows both parties to further investigate the launch of a Yahsat satellite constellation that would serve Panasonic’s general mobility needs in aviation, maritime and terrestrial transportation.”
