DXB experiences 10.4% surge

According to reports by Dubai Airports, passenger numbers at Dubai International have increased by 10.4% year on year, as compared to May 2011. In terms of cargo volume, the reports show that DXB handled 0.1% less than the same time last year, though freight volume increased 1.4%.
Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports said, “Dubai International has had a strong showing in terms of passenger traffic so far this year with double-digit growth recorded in four of the first five months.” He said forecasts suggested growth would continue to give projected traffic of 56.5 million ppa by the end of 2012.
