Longest ever biofuel flight

KLM has made what it claims is the world’s longest biofuel flight. It used a Boeing 777-200 partially powered by biofuel made from used cooking oil, flying from Amsterdam to the Rio+20 United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
KLM is one of the founders of the recently launched SkyNRG BioFuel Programme, and Camiel Eurlings, MD of KLM, said, “Using sustainable BioFuel is one of the most important ways to make aviation more sustainable. We can only achieve this with partners who dare to stick their necks out.”
